The character of modern-girl Kate Walker was a lot of fun, and her sense of joy and adventure and spirit really made this book for me. I thought I might not like the 'dated' feel to the romance writing, but I was wrong.

I selected this book because it was published in 1987 and would enable me to close out a long-standing reading challenge. What a neat little gem of a time-travel romance. Her well-meaning friends had been right about one thing though-this was going to be her time. In the three- months since her mother's funeral, she'd listened to consolation, advice, and had even had to put up with her ex-husband's frequent calls. Gazing out to the lush scenery before her, Kate couldn't help experiencing a rush of relief. Leslie Walker had been one hell of a woman, before her stroke, and even after. They hadn't known her mother, not really, she thought as she made her way to the balcony overlooking Bermuda's Hamilton Harbour. Looking about the lovely room, Kate Walker shook her head. She deserved it, they had murmured comfortingly. Her time, her friends and relatives had proclaimed-to live, to enjoy life. O'Day-Flannery currently lives in Pennsylvania. She spent three years living in Ireland before returning to the United States and continuing her writing career. In 2001, O'Day-Flannery took a hiatus from writing.
